Reflexology
Reflexology has the potential to  ease a range of common physical and emotional conditions, restoring and maintaining your body's healthy balance. Reflexology can be used as safely and effectively with children as adults.

Reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe.

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary holistic therapy which works sympathetically with the body's systems to restore and maintain good health and wellbeing, both physically and emotionally.  Professionally trained reflexologists work on the feet, or hands, detecting subtle changes and areas of tension and congestion which in turn correspond to areas of the body, its systems and organs.

Reflexology is suitable for a wide range of ages and conditions.
Whilst Reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe, reflexology has been shown to be effective for -

    * Stress-related conditions
    * Back pain
    * Migraine
    * Digestive disorders
    * IBS
    * Hormonal imbalances
    * PMS
    * Sleep disorders
    * Arthritis
    * Sports injuries
    * Asthma

The History of Reflexology
Reflexology can be traced back to Ancient Egypt, China and India.  However in its current form it is comparatively recent. During the early part of the 20th Century Dr William Fitzgerald noticed links between areas of the feet and hands and other areas of the body and organs. From this he introduced 'Zone Therapy'.  In the 1930s Eunice Ingham developed Zone Therapy further, extending knowledge and practice into what we now know as Reflexology.

What to expect during a treatment
Each treatment session lasts about an hour.  The first session is slightly longer as I need to gain information from you about your current state of health, wellbeing and medical history (all treated with professional confidentiality) to ensure the appropriate treatment is offered to your individual needs.

Each treatment finishes with a short foot massage to complete your session and enhance your sense of wellbeing.

Sessions for children are shorter and more flexible in approach to meet the needs of the child. The initial session is longer to gain relevant information to plan treatment.
Children's treatments require a parent or legal guardian to be present.

After the session I encourage you to keep me informed how you are feeling so I may support you as appropriate.
